-------------------
Fix the save-game mechanism! That would go a long way toward making the
crashes livable.
Fix the crashing. [ Its a LOT better now, seldom crashes. ]
Devise a treaties/peace setup that will work for players. Basically
republic and democracy should not be able to initiate a state of war nor
refuse a peace offer. Possibly require diplomats for making peace
offers/treaties? Without some such thing the great wall / united nations
type of wonders are ineffectual or require some other bonus effect.
(Perhaps if the use of diplomats to "buy" (corrupt/takeover) cities gets
implemented then prices of stuff like that could be affected by the
united nations wonder? I noticed in midrange-difficulty games of
civilisation sometimes parts of other civilisations broke away to join
one if one was very popular.)
LONG TERM:
I would like to use this or xconq or some hybrid as a generic resolution
module for civilisations who meet in the course of a game of interstellar
scale. Any time two or more civilisations meet at a planet, generate the
planet and play it out. If any of the players lost their connection to
the game for too long, some kind of civil disorder, revolt, plague or
whatever can be trumped up to rationalise the situation so the larger
game can proceed - or simply a more statistical/abstract resolution means
can be used on such occassions. If robot players get implemented (check
out how xtank, xconq, crobots, gnu chess do strategy/robots?) they can be
used too to help rationalise cases where human players default for
whatever reasons.
